Hey! Long time no see. I’ll give you a quick refresher on what’s going on. Most of the gang has made it back to Pat’s comic shop with the exception of the unnamed and Mark Twain. As you can see above, Twain’s not in such a great position. The unnamed is currently beating down on some agents. That’s about it. I will hopefully be able to post straight through to the end now.
Until next time…

No update this week. I know, it makes me sad, too. The reason for this is simple. I’ve started prepping for print and am also preparing a submission to the Xeric foundation. The due date for that is at the end of this month which leaves me with a lot of scrambling as I try to get everything ready for that. The good news is we’re nearing the end of the first book. I’m not planning to wrap the story up into a neat little bow, though. It’s ending on a cliffhanger. After this is over I’ll take some time to work on a few other things – they’ll get posted here, too. The name of the site is Cactus Comics after all, not Misadventures of a Comic Fan. I’d like to do a few other shorter stories before jumping back into the next section of Misadventures of a Comic Fan. One of the stories I have planned is the Doctor’s origin story. By default this will also tell the origin of the unnamed bald guy. My tentative plan is to get back to telling the Misadventures story over the summer. I will post the remaining pages of this story in the next week or so, depending on how quickly I can get the printing stuff out of the way.
That’s all for today.

Very little text and no dialog with this one, and I’m pretty happy about that. I think this page has more color than any of my previous pages in this series. Not that it really matters, just sayin’. Anyway, enjoy. I’ll talk more next time.
Later.
I guess for any comic fan, it’s gotta come back to Alan Moore. The real question is what will Pat’s reaction be? If you’ve seen the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen movie, you know that Tom Sawyer was in it, but not the comic. Is our Tom aware of this? Have any of the other characters read the stories? Is Mike aware that he’s been running around with a group that could just as easily been in Moore’s series? All good questions. Sadly, we’ll have to wait for the answer.
Mike thought they lost Pat as they ran from the Agents, and yet, there he is in the shop. That’s a little confusing isn’t it? Fear not, all will be explained. Maybe. And there’s still the issue of what happened to Mr. Clemens and the unnamed. As Stan Lee would say, “Stay tuned, True Believer!”
This is the first page I’ve done in a while that didn’t have any dialog or narration, and it feels good. I think it not only turned out well, but works to move the story along quite well without the need of any text. As you can see, Huck and Tom are off to the comic shop. We’ll have to catch up with big, bad and bald later.
